Fall, Pumpkins, and Halloween Fun!

10/26/13

Our first chilly morning.  The boys got all bundled up to go outside and play.

Once it warmed up we went out for a fall photo shoot with some pretty leaves from a neighbors tree.

Oct. 30th...Halloween prep:

Austin did not want to be in the picture...can't see him, can you?

Oct. 31st...Halloween!

The morning of Halloween, Stella and I went to watch Hunter perform in an elective share.  He took Intro to Band during first quarter and they learned how to play the recorder.

Austin as a "Very, Scary, Ghost" and Hunter as the Grim Reaper.

And, our sweet lady bug...she wasn't smiling.  I don't blame her...creepy hands holding her!

A ninja and Cinderella joined us.

And, Superman...so powerful his pants kept popping open.

Our neighbors two doors down...Wizard of Oz.

Checking out their loot...they got to eat some and pick out things they really liked.  We then took all the rest and left it for the Switch Witch.  She came and took the candy that night and left a gift for each of them.

October 2014

October in review...

10/2/13...building legos with "Sam"...Austin can't say Cam.  He keeps saying...C is for Sam.  Great!

Still sleeping in her swing...but, now she takes a paci!

Went upstairs for a nap...happens once in a blue moon.  I'll take it!

10/3/13

I was holding an apple and Stella was leaning over sucking on it.  She loved it!

10/4/13

Life and Science Museum in Durham...we went with Hunter and his class for a field trip.

They had a room full of cardboard and the kids were creating a city.  Pretty neat.

Train ride!

He did not want his picture taken.

10/5:  We watched Caleb for an afternoon while his parents were at a wedding.

I took them for a walk...

It was peaceful!

10/6: Caleb and Stella...(4 months & 5 months)

10/9:

Play-doh fun

Mummy's Little Pumpkin...both of the boys wore this outfit as well.

10/12/13 NC State vs. Syracuse...another State loss.  :(

10/13:

Some decorating for Halloween

Hunter has a gazillion t-shirts...I organized his shirts vertically so he can see all of them.  It has helped with keeping his drawers organized.

10/14 Playnation...I took Austin and Ella and we met a friend there.

10/15:

5 1/2 months...pretty baby.

10/16:

F is for fish.  We have been focusing on a different letter each week.  This day we went fishing for different colored fish and counted them.

Austin is obsessed with Stella...and her head.

In the carwash.

10/17:

I came home from the store and found these shoes on the floor instead of in the cubbys where they belong.  All boy shoes...sneakers, crocs, dress shoes, cowboy boots, flip flops, etc...

10/18:

They made a tall pile of dominos...

...and watched them fall.

F is for fall.  We went on a leaf hunt.

Happy Nolan!

Austin, Cam, and Ella having fun running up and down the hill over and over.

Hunter's last baseball game of the fall season...Go Bees!  This was his second fall season and he played on the same team.

10/19:

We spent the weekend on Laurinburg on the 1 year anniversary of Crowell's death.  We had a small memorial at the cemetary in Rowland, NC where Crowell's parents are buried.  His ashes were sprinkled over his mother's grave.  The kids released white balloons.  Later that day Austin asked me if Papa was going to give him his balloon back.  :)

10/20 She loves to suck on apples!

10/22 Bad lighting, but Hunter's baseball team had an end of season dinner at a local pizza place.  They each received a trophy and medal.

10/24 We got these pumpkins in late September and a few of them were not cooperating...Austin said they were melting, which was kind of right.  It had been a pretty warm October.

She's so proud to be able to sit up on her own.

10/25:  Cam thought this hen laying eggs was hysterical.

G is for goo...we made our own homemade goo (slime).  It was really neat how it formed.  This is a recipe from Kid Concoctions.  You add 1 cup water to 1 cup white glue and 2 Tbs. liquid tempera paint or 7-10 drops of food coloring (solution A) and you slowly add this to 1 1/3 cup warm water mixed with 4 tsp. borax laundry booster (solution B).  Then you roll solution A around in solution B 4-5 times.  Then lift the gunk out and knead for a few minutes.  It Will seem slimy at first, but it firms up.

10/28:

10/29:  Hunter's spider shirt.  We made these for Halloween.
