I went into school this morning to help in Hunter's classroom. Austin and Ella went to a friend's house to play. When it was time to leave Austin threw a major fit. He screamed for about an hour and then passed out while sitting in my lap. I put him on the couch.
So peaceful...
Then he fell off the couch and continued to sleep...still peaceful (glad I put blankets on the floor for him)
Then he woke up and screamed for another 30 minutes until I bribed him with a lollipop. I was desperate!
Tuesday 2/26:
Hunter had his last basketball game. I took a few shots during warm up because he never gets a chance to shoot during the game. Overall the team has made a lot of improvements from the beginning of the season. Hunter is doing much better with dribbling and running at the same time. He's a pretty good shooter when he has the opportunity.
Wednesday 2/27:
Yesterday is poured and was gross all day, so we stayed inside. Today it was much nicer, just wet. We played at Lake Lynn Tot time with some friends and then walked down to feed the ducks. (no camera)
Jody sent me a picture of the progress he has made on the bottom portion of the wall unit.
Thursday 2/28:
Last day of February...this month seemed long.
Two funny shots that Austin took today. This one is a picture of a picture. He saw Winnie and said, "Let me take a picture of Winnie."
And one of Cam...(by Austin)
Friday 3/1:
All of the kids were a little under the weather. Austin woke up around 5am coughing like crazy. Cam didn't feel well, so he stayed home. They rested a lot, but still played a bit. Austin made Ella wear this Luigi hat.
Then they both wanted to lay down in Austin's bed.
So, I gave them some electronic entertainment and got a few things done around the house.
Saturday 3/2:
The boys playing the Wii...every time I walked by, Austin would wave to me. I ran a bunch of errands this morning. Chris and Hunter went to the dump and got rid of a lot of "junk" from last weekend. Then they went to the book store because Hunter really wanted Green Eggs and Ham. He used some of his birthday money to buy it.
Saturday evening, Jody came with the wall unit. It is HUGE and took them a few hours to install. The chair rail and floor boards had to come off. Then they put the top shelving up in three sections. The middle part was really heavy.
Sadie's bed was put on the trampoline and she made herself at home.
Top three sections up and part of the bottom put in.
The entire unit installed. Hard to get a good shot of it with all the other stuff in the room.
Sunday, 3/3:
Happy 91st birthday to my Aunt Mary Rose. Last year at this time Hunter and I were in NY.
We were all up bright and early this morning. I started right away with sorting through all the toys. Chris added a strip of quarter round between the wall and bottom cabinet, because it was just a bit too short to cover where the chair rail had been.
We had toys everywhere...toy room, living room, Hunter's room, Austin's room, stuff on the washer and dryer, etc...
I sorted by category. Here are a few "in the process of sorting" pictures. Of course the boys kept coming in the room. They would find something they had not seen in awhile, play with it for a bit, and then come get something else.
I came to a stopping point. We took ALL of our board games (adult and kid) and put them on the left upper side. In the bottom left side I put bigger games, puzzles, big legos, etc...
The rest of the top has an assortment of toys and books. I will be moving things throughout the week.
The middle left has tubs that are all organized and labeled with a picture of what goes in there and the words written on it. (superheroes, star wars, dinosaurs, board books, match box cars, etc...)
The middle right is open. I took one shelf out...(all the sections have two shelves that are all adjustable...this section was blocking an outlet, so Jody cut the shape of the outlet so we could use it if needed.) I used four baskets that had been in Hunter's room for some bigger toys. Behind the baskets are wooden blocks. Good place for them...easy to get to, but not super visible so the kids won't notice them and pull them out all over the floor all of the time.
The bottom right has not been used yet. The dresser you can see to the right of the picture has all of our arts and crafts. I am going to use the right side cabinets for all of that. I may add the extra shelf there if needed. We will put the dresser into the closet in the baby's room. The kids sized table and chairs will go where the dresser is currently sitting, in front of the window.
This was an all day project...I am beat. MooMa came for a bit. She has a conference in Raleigh for a few days.
ps...this coming week we are getting our "loaner couch" from Thomasville and hopefully the new windows will be installed this week or next!
