The End of May

I cannot believe today is the last day of May!  Stella will be a month old tomorrow. So crazy.

Tuesday, May 28th:

Ella is back...the kids spent the day playing.  We went to visit a friend and play at her house for a bit as well.

Today was Winnie's 10th birthday!

She has been such a good sleeper...knock on wood...

Today was also Emily's due date...we pretty much have walked each day for several days trying to get this little guy out.  He has just been much to comfy!

Wed. May 29th:

I took the kids to Lake Lynn tot time to get out of the house.  We met a friend and her son there.  Then we went to the playground and had a picnic lunch.

Hunter held Stella for me while I made dinner.

I took some pictures of Stella while she was waking up and stretching.

Thursday, May 30th:

Today we went to a playground near Hunter's school and then went to eat lunch with him one last time this school year.  After that we were going to make a "quick" stop to the pool store to pick up a chemical we needed.  However, we got stuck in bad traffic.  Once we got there I knew Stella was hungry.  So, I asked for a place to go feed her.  They brought us to the break room at that store.  Thankfully I had the iPad for Ella and Austin.

Later we went back to Hunter's school for his first performance.  This quarter he was in an elective called Intro to the Stage.  He had two lines and did a great job.  It was a super cute musical.

Austin was not interested.

Just as we were clapping at the end of the performance I noticed my hand was wet.  Stella's diaper leaked and her poop was all over my hand.  Gross!

Friday, May 31st:

Today we stuck around the house since we had such a busy week.

Austin decided to go dressed as Luigi to the bus stop.  It was WAY too hot to wear a costume today.

Waiting at the bus stop.

Andrew came over to play so Chris took the boys and Winnie into the pool.

Check out Hunter's muscles.

Austin was so excited to be swimming.

Andrew jumping in.

Still waiting for Baby Papile.  Everyone is ready, but him.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a pretty quiet Memorial Day weekend.  The weather was very mild and comfortable.  Almost too chilly to go swimming.

On Sat. 5/25 Hunter woke up with a bad ear ache.

We ventured out to go strawberry picking and he moaned and groaned like he was about to die the entire time.  He was in the car with the windows down and we could hear him while out picking strawberries in the field.

Chris had to finish picking for me...this was the only picture I took.  I had to document that he actually helped pick.  He said he would rather pick the strawberries then listen to Hunter moan.

Chris took Hunter to the minute clinic at CVS and he did have an ear infection.  He felt pretty bad all day long.

Eating some strawberry ice cream from the strawberry farm.

You know Hunter is not feeling well when he doesn't finish a dessert.

Sleeping beauty.

Sunday, May 26th:

Hunter was feeling better the next day.  The boys spent the morning playing cops and robbers.  Hunter has Austin in handcuffs.

Chris gave Stella her first bottle.  We were told to give her one bottle of pumped milk a week so she will get used to a bottle if needed.  It took her awhile get used to it, then she started sucking the milk down extremely fast.  She then proceeded to spit up all over Chris.  I took her and she spit up all over me as well.  We won't be doing that again any time soon.  The milk just comes out way to fast, even with the slow flow nipples.

Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th:

The boys helped Chris trim some bushes.  As I was taking this picture Austin was about to pull his pants down and pee in the grass.  We're trying to stop this now as he does it ANYWHERE.

We went for a walk at a local green way with Jay and Emily.

The dam at Falls Lake.

We grilled some steak tips when we got home.

May 19th-25th

Chris went back to work this week.  It was just me, Austin, and Stella.  We had a pretty quiet week.  Nothing too exciting happened.

Monday, 5/20:

A friend came over in the morning and brought lunch.  The day was a little rainy so we didn't get to go outside at all.

Not happy I set her down...I just thought she looked so teeny tiny next to Austin, who payed no attention to her while she sat there and cried.

Wed. 5/22:

Making funny faces and poses...3 weeks old today!

"You wanna pinch me because I'm cute?  That's not nice."

Who would want to pinch her?  Sweet baby sleeping.

Tummy time with her big brother...

Then the other big brother had to join...it took him forever to get himself positioned correctly.

Not a huge fan of tummy time...if there was sound with this picture you would hear some grunting and snorting.

Hunter imitating her...

And, a bunch of attempts to get a cute picture...

21 days old...she was over having her picture taken...

But calmed down after a minute.

I gave her a sponge bath and put her in this nightgown, which was too big...after feeding her I went to change her diaper and lifted her shirt and found this...a real belly button.  Yay!

On Friday, May 24th I took Austin to Project Enlightenment to get assessed for speech delays.  It is a free service provided through Wake County.  He took awhile to warm up to the speech therapist, but eventually he started talking to her.

He did not pass his hearing test, which is odd and probably was due to his cold he was just getting over, but I need to take him to have that tested.  His speech had many areas that were not where they needed to be for his age.  So, now he will be referred to have more testing to find out what specific areas of need he should receive speech services for.  On a positive note...they did find that he was in the 98th percentile in the cognitive screening, which is interesting and could be part of the reason why he has had so many tantrums in the past.  He has had very few tantrums over the past 6 weeks.  So, I'm hoping he's starting to get over those.
