May 19th-25th

Chris went back to work this week.  It was just me, Austin, and Stella.  We had a pretty quiet week.  Nothing too exciting happened.

Monday, 5/20:

A friend came over in the morning and brought lunch.  The day was a little rainy so we didn't get to go outside at all.

Not happy I set her down...I just thought she looked so teeny tiny next to Austin, who payed no attention to her while she sat there and cried.

Wed. 5/22:

Making funny faces and poses...3 weeks old today!

"You wanna pinch me because I'm cute?  That's not nice."

Who would want to pinch her?  Sweet baby sleeping.

Tummy time with her big brother...

Then the other big brother had to join...it took him forever to get himself positioned correctly.

Not a huge fan of tummy time...if there was sound with this picture you would hear some grunting and snorting.

Hunter imitating her...

And, a bunch of attempts to get a cute picture...

21 days old...she was over having her picture taken...

But calmed down after a minute.

I gave her a sponge bath and put her in this nightgown, which was too big...after feeding her I went to change her diaper and lifted her shirt and found this...a real belly button.  Yay!

On Friday, May 24th I took Austin to Project Enlightenment to get assessed for speech delays.  It is a free service provided through Wake County.  He took awhile to warm up to the speech therapist, but eventually he started talking to her.

He did not pass his hearing test, which is odd and probably was due to his cold he was just getting over, but I need to take him to have that tested.  His speech had many areas that were not where they needed to be for his age.  So, now he will be referred to have more testing to find out what specific areas of need he should receive speech services for.  On a positive note...they did find that he was in the 98th percentile in the cognitive screening, which is interesting and could be part of the reason why he has had so many tantrums in the past.  He has had very few tantrums over the past 6 weeks.  So, I'm hoping he's starting to get over those.
