Happy Halloween!

This morning we worked on a little Halloween craft idea that I stole from a friend, thanks Kora...I think I stole her idea from last year too.  Hunter got to spend the day with us because school was out for a teacher workday.  He told me not to make any weird breakfast for him this year.  He really did not like the severed hands and bloodshot eyeballs I made him last year.  Party pooper!

There were a bunch of shots like this from Hunter.

I wish I had taken a picture of Austin gluing the fence down.  He used a bottle of elmer's glue and was just copying how Hunter was doing it.  He did great!  I was surprised.  I really wanted to show him how you can rub glue all over your hands, let it dry, and then peel it off...then I remembered who I was thinking about sharing this with.

Waldo and Thomas the Train!

Thomas found Waldo!

Waldo and Peter Pan.

The first house...Trick or Treat!  Austin was so excited to get a lollipop that he wanted to eat it right away.  We told him we needed to get more candy first, so he spent the rest of the night saying, "More candy!" after leaving each house.  (he ate two lollipops while walking...super safe)

Tinkerbell found us for a bit.

After about an hour and a half and only going around a small block of our neighborhood, this is what the boys had.  Enough to last us for quite some time.  Hunter was shoveling in candy like he had never seen it before.  Austin was sucking on the wrappers.  I had to fight my urge to sort the candy by type and count each kind.  I did notice there was not a single butterfinger.  :(

What a difference a year makes!!

Some Vests and a Nap!

This is how I found everyone this morning when I came downstairs.

And, then Winnie had to join in too...

Ella came over wearing a vest today and Austin wanted it, so I went and grabbed some out of his closet.  Hunter had four vests when he was Austin's age, but would never wear them.  Austin wore his all day...he kept switching which one he wanted on.

Hunter's snack when he got home from school.  He ate about half of them!

Austin really wanted to go ride his bike outside, but it was so cold so I was avoiding going out.  He was sitting behind me on the computer chair trying to push me off.  I realized the pushing stopped so I looked at him and this is what I saw.  I thought about putting him in his bed, but decided I would have a longer nap time if I kept him there.

About an hour and a half later Hunter and I tried to wake him up.  He moved to this position instead.

When someone sleeps like this I think it means they are tired.  So, I let him sleep.

Pumpkin Carving

The boys had fun cleaning out the pumpkins.

A cyclopes and a ghost:

This picture was taken by accident, but Hunter's face was pretty funny.

I cleaned a TON of pumpkin seeds that we'll roast tomorrow night!

Cleaning Out and Making Some Room

We have too much stuff in our little house.  This morning (and part of the afternoon) I tackled Hunter's scary mess of a bedroom.  I was able to go through all of his clothes, toys, books, stuffed animals, etc...

While I worked  Chris kept the boys busy.

Filling our pumpkin leaf bags...I saw Hunter doing this through the window.  He was putting in one leaf at a time and Austin was just following him around.

Three bags of items from Hunter's room that I was able to get rid of...

Hunter and I search high and low yesterday for a cane for his Halloween costume...Walmart (my last resort) in the old folks section...$8.  He loves it...both boys do.  It's adjustable, so he thinks that is just great.

We went to the farmer's market to pick up some bigger pumpkins to carve.  We had a few, but they melted away...gross.  We also got a few smaller ones for Hunter's class to paint this week.  Hard work I guess, because Austin passed out for a quick little cat nap before heading over to some friend's for dinner.

Yum...cake...and FINALLY my son likes chocolate.  He was licking his hands, plate, table, etc...

Silly Saturday

Today I was able to sleep in and woke up to Austin shoving a popsicle in my face.  He was demanding one for breakfast.  Instead, I convinced him to help me make banana pancakes and eggs.

Chris took the boys outside to play so I could get some stuff done in the house.  Austin had to wear his Cars pants and Chris picked out one of his shirts for him.  But, Austin just had to wear this Cars tank top with his wonder pets cape.  I told him that the top was pajamas and he said, "These are not pajamas!!"  Like I was the crazy one...
