A week from today we'll find out if we're having a boy or a girl. I am 17 weeks today and feel great. I really would not know I was pregnant if it wasn't for my stomach popping out and having an old lady bladder. I cannot complain one bit. Well, it would be nice to sleep for longer then two hours at a time, but whatever...
This morning we woke up to find Jake fishing goldfish out of our downstairs toilet. (you'll get to see it too once I get these pictures uploaded) Hunter thought it was hysterical.
Austin woke up in a grouchy mood, but luckily we had another friend over today (Maggie) to play for a bit so he snapped out of it pretty quick. (ironically, the elf fishing in the toilet didn't snap him out of his grouchy mood)
However, he had a few tantrums throughout the day. If something doesn't go his way he screams and screams until he forgets about it.
When it was time to get Hunter from school I asked him to put his pants on. Which he did...but, then he decided he didn't want pants...just underwear with his batman t-shirt and rain boots. And I said..."Fine." Honestly...I could have cared less. We were going through carpool and it saved me from hearing him scream about wearing pants. (evil things they are) Plus...I didn't even put shoes on, I just drove in my slippers. (I did at least take my wallet though...I guess getting a citation for not carrying my license worked)
Today he didn't want to wear his jacket when we went outside to play and I said he would be cold without it, but he took it off when we got outside. He was mad I was wearing my jacket and spent about 15 minutes trying to get mine off. So, we just went back inside and he screamed some more about other random things.
Sounds bad, but he had some happy moment today to...I'm sure of it. I do remember him laughing...just can't remember why.
ps...
Earlier in the day I was emailing a friend and had to sign off quickly...I stated something like, "Gotta run, Austin is eating my chapstick." After reading my email she replied with a story she had heard...so here it is for you all to read. Thanks for the laugh April. If we had a cat, I could TOTALLY see Austin doing such a thing:
So, we had this great 10 year old cat named Jack who just recently
died. Jack was a great cat and the kids would carry him around and sit
on him and nothing ever bothered him. He used to hang out and nap all
day long on this mat in our bathroom.
Well we have 3 kids and at the time of this story they were 4 years
old, 3 years old and 1 year old.
The middle one is Eli. Eli really loves chapstick. LOVES it. He kept
asking to use my chapstick and then losing it. So finally one day I
showed him where in the bathroom I keep my chapstick and how he could
use it whenever he wanted to but he needed to put it right back in the
drawer when he was done.
Last year on Mother's Day, we were having the typical rush around and
try to get ready for Church with everyone crying and carrying on. My
two boys are fighting over the toy in the cereal box. I am trying to
nurse my little one at the same time I am putting on my make-up.
Everything is a mess and everyone has long forgotten that this is a
wonderful day to honor me and the amazing job that is motherhood.
We finally have the older one and the baby loaded in the car and I am
looking for Eli. I have searched everywhere and I finally round the
corner to go into the bathroom. And there was Eli. He was applying my
chapstick very carefully to Jack's . . . rear end. Eli looked right
into my eyes and said 'chapped.' Now if you have a cat, you know that
he is right--their little butts do look pretty chapped. And, frankly,
Jack didn't seem to mind.
And the only question to really ask at that point was whether it was
the FIRST time Eli had done that to the cat's behind or the hundredth.
And THAT is my favorite Mother's Day moment ever because it reminds us
that no matter how hard we try to civilize these glorious little
creatures, there will always be that day when you realize they've been
using your chapstick on the cat's butt.
oh my gosh, i had no idea you were pregnant again!! and you're due right around when we (officially) are. that's so amazing, congratulations!!
