The End of 2012!

365 (plus 1) posts for the year 2012.

And, it's been quite the year...good and bad, ups and downs...

My dad's stroke, my aunt's 90th birthday, Chris' dad diagnosis, Jessica's wedding, trips to the beach, Williamsburg, NY, Hunter starting t-ball/baseball, finding out we're having a third baby, finding out our friends/neighbors are having their FIRST baby, many more births and pregnancies of friends, and losing Chris' dad...the list goes on and on...

...and so does life.  We just have to accept what happens and continue on with our lives.  Easier said then done, but we have so much to be thankful for...

Today was a "down" day and not the way I thought we would be spending the last day of 2012.  Hunter woke up sick and was sick most of the day.  He spent most of his time in bed or on the couch.  Tonight he cried and cried saying what a bad day it was and how he thought he was going to die.  I felt so badly for him...I really hope the bug he has passes by the rest of us.  (side note...Hunter saw a small bug crawling near him and said, "I think I found the bug that was making me throw up.")

So, instead of going out and getting our new fish we stayed in...I was able to get all of the Christmas decorations taken down and put back up in the attic.  Austin spent the day being crazy as usual.

Look at me in Mommy's shoes...

I guess they're harder to stand in then I thought...(he needed a band-aid for his butt after this fall...well, he didn't really need it, but insisted on having one)

Chris had to run out to Best Buy to purchase new speakers for our computer, so I had him pick up dinner from the Cheesecake Factory.  I never get cheesecake, but felt like chocolate...so I got a piece of chocolate mousse cheesecake.  Chris took a bite before I could take a picture.

The kids are sleeping and I am ready to sleep...we'll see if I can make it to midnight.  We were supposed to have our neighbors over, but we we're just pretty tired and I would have hated to get them sick.

Here's to a new year...new times and a new member of our family.  We can not wait to meet our baby girl.

Happy 2013!

Something Fishy

Today we finally set up Hunter's new fish tank he received for Christmas.

First we had to get rid of this ugly black bookshelf.

I posted an ad on craigslist saying it was free to the person who could pick it up today.  I had about 15 responses in about 10 minutes so I had to take the ad down.  A nice couple got it.  They said they had recently moved here and could not bring much of their furniture so they were trying to find cheap stuff for now.  Free is pretty cheap and such an easy way to get rid of big things.

Chris put together our new white bookshelf (which is where the old one was) and we are using that as our fish tank stand.  The stones were a pain to rinse out...some were smaller then the strainer I was using so they started to fall into the sink.

The boys wanted to help fill the tank up.  It's all set and ready for some fish...we'll go to the fish store tomorrow or Tuesday.

Austin loves to help move the wet clothes into the dryer.  He does it anytime I ask him.  He grunts and groans and talks about how wet the clothes are as he's doing it..."Oh, my underwear is wet.  Angry bird jamas are all wet."  Like I don't know...
(I do appreciate the help though)

So, I found the cure to him not using all the band-aids...fake tattoos.  The only problem...he wants more and more.  He LOVES these tattoos and counts them and talks about what color they are, etc...

This evening we did some shopping for carpet upstairs...lots to try to figure out!

I was able to get all the ornaments and lights off the Christmas tree this evening.  Hoping to get the rest of the Christmas stuff packed up tomorrow.

Fast, Busy Day

Chris and I found a gym we were interested in going to...so we went to check it out today and signed up.  There are several locations in our area...three that are close by and two of those with lap pools (which is what I really wanted).  So, we're going to go workout tomorrow and leave the kids in the childcare area.

If this isn't sisterly love I don't know what is...I found them like this as we were getting ready to leave today.

Bennett's first birthday was today.  He enjoyed his cake!

And, so did Austin...he likes cake now.  :)

This evening I went out and purchased the boys bunk bed for their birthdays and purchased our new media console, end table, and book shelf.  The bunk beds will arrive in time for their birthdays and the living room items will be here on Wednesday!  Now we just need our couch which won't be arriving until the end of February or early March.  Can't wait!

Last Friday of 2012

I'm so close to the end of my 365 days of blogging...there are a few dates from January and one from March that I need to go back and add pictures to, but otherwise, I believe I have posted something for each day of 2012.

Next year I will continue to post as often as I can, but will not post daily.

Today was kind of chilly...so we played a lot in the house.  Austin promised he would not take his train table apart again so I put it all back together.  He received a few new trains for Christmas.  Well...so far he has stuck to his word...he played with this trains for hours today.

It finally warmed up enough to go out and play.  They took turns driving, riding, and chasing.  (and mowing the street)

This was the first time Austin drove the car.  He had the best grin on his face.  And, Ella was enjoying the ride, despite the look on her face.

Quiet Day

Well...quiet is not the best word to describe today when there were four kids here playing.  I guess..."no busy" would sound better.

I had an early morning doctors appointment and all was fine.  Then I went to my chiropractor...the adjustments have made a huge difference on my back pain.

Andrew and Ella came over and the four kids went from one toy to the next to the next...

We played at the playground for a bit as well.

This evening Hunter was "starving" and showed me how starving he really was...

I promise that I do feed him.

The Day After...

Today was a rainy day...perfect for playing with new toys.

Mom and I went out to a few stores while the boys played at home.

Austin had gotten an Angry Birds hat in his stocking and Hunter was so annoyed that he didn't get one too.  So, I just "happened" to find another one in Target today along with the gloves that match.

Austin's gloves were a little big and I kept telling him that it was ok, but he was not giving in...so I had to tape each finger with extra material down.  Then he was happy.

Hunter was pretty good at blowing up these balloon air powered cars...Austin was having a tough time.

Mom heads back to NY in the morning...hopefully the roads won't be too bad with all the snow they are supposed to get.  I have an early morning doctors appointment (20 week appointment)...however, I'm 21 weeks today!  Over half way!

Oh...and I broke down and bought a few girl clothes, but her room is not ready and I do not have a place to keep it yet...so I need to get a move on so I can fill it up!

Merry Christmas

A fun filled day...

Much more to add tomorrow.  Merry Christmas!!

Technically Christmas Eve, but I took these photos of the gifts for the boys after midnight.

Austin slept like this most of the night...across my head.

Hunter was up first and I tried to get him to go back to sleep in my bed...it didn't work.  But, he did wait with me for an hour before waking everyone else.

Santa and the reindeer cleared the plate!

Austin's new balance bike.

Opening their stockings.

We got Hunter his first real acoustic guitar, so we figured we should get a cheap one for Austin so he would leave Hunter's guitar alone.

Austin had a great time with band aids!

Sadie and Winnie get their presents.

Hunter opening his aquarium...he loves it!

After opening all of our gifts I went out to the recycle bin and saw the boys present from Santa sitting outside.  They were pretty excited!

Christmas morning breakfast!

First lesson...

Hunter asked me where Jack was...I told him he was back at the North Pole to help Santa and would be back next year.  This is the face I got after I said that.

Austin had several band aids on him by the end of the day.

Another outing with the new car!

MooMa came for the day/night.

Austin could NOT keep his eyes open during lunch.

The boys each got a leap pad 2 from MooMa.

Dinner time!  Here are the candy canes...they were pretty good and took very little time to make.

Hunter playing his new Wii U.  Chris creating his own profile.

The boys were up until close to 11pm...it was a long, fun, and exciting day!
