Jack also brought a special North Pole breakfast (hot chocolate with mini marshmallows, powdered donuts, and yogurt covered pretzels). They both got a pair of Angry Birds Christmas pajamas too. Jack even had nibbled on his own donut.
So, even with the option of a "sugar" breakfast which never happens at our house...Austin decided he wanted turkey.
Then he decided to try a donut and loved it. (you can see he put his new pajamas on right away)
We spent most of today decorating the tree/house/outside, etc...Austin was "helpful" as you can imagine. He did help some, but he broke 3-4 ornaments throughout the course of the day. All by mistake...oh, and he broke a snow globe. He was busy counting these boxes in the advent calendar box thingy for quite some time. Then he started hiding things in the boxes.
It was another beautiful day so we were able to get all of our outdoor lights up...this year I also have large Christmas bulbs that we used to decorate Hunter's tree and our Japanese maple. Austin was so proud of hanging these ornaments. I remember Hunter grouping all the ornaments together when he was Austin's age. (note his outfit)
Austin worked really hard on helping put ornaments on the tree. It was really cute watching Hunter help Austin put the ornaments on. Austin would say, "right here bro bro?" And, Hunter would say yes...the Austin would move it and he would ask again.
We have a TON of ornaments. I have a huge tub of just Hallmark ornaments and then an ornament box full...Hunter loves to help and probably put over half of the ornaments up throughout the day. He did a great job and it's nice to have the help. We both love to go through the ornaments and talk about where we got it from. This year we added a bunch of new ones. Two from the beach, three from Williamsburg, one from The Great Wolf Lodge, and a few new Hallmark ones.
He stayed up until 9:30 decorating the tree. We have a handful of ornaments to go and need a few more hooks.
So proud of his work!
Here he is from years past helping out...
Hunter at 2...12/08
He liked to cluster ornaments together as well.
Hunter at three...12/09
Austin at 9 months (12/10)...it's hard to believe it was just a few days after Christmas that he took his first steps. He looks so small and innocent here.
Hunter at 4.
Austin at one...(12/11)
Hunter at 5.
At some point in the day I found Austin in his bathroom checking himself out in the mirror.
