Rock Beyond Belief

Today Chris had the opportunity to play live with his band at an event called Rock Beyond Belief.  It was held on the base at Fort Bragg.

Driving to Fayetteville this morning it was pouring, but it cleared up and turned out to be a pretty nice day.

The event had bands, speakers, lots of food, and fun activities for kids.

Here is Hunter will David Silverman.

The back stage tent for the rock stars :)  (and us...to keep us dry from the rain!)

Getting the ready for a sound check.

Hunter, happy as a clam, with his soda.  :)

The kids running around after the rain finally stopped!

The chapel on the base...the base was really pretty.

Amber with a cute, but huge dog.

Sound check...

Hunter and Richard Dawkins.

Some shots of the crowd...a lot of people showed up, regardless of the weather.

Richard Dawkins

Not the best picture, but the only one to prove I was there...

Hunter listening to Richard Dawkins speak.

Hunter climbing the rock wall...I was nervous watching him!

The United States Army Parachute Team, Golden Knights, did a small show...

Getting ready to perform...

Hunter and his yummy ice cream cone with sprinkles.  A few minutes after I took this picture he dropped it on the ground.  Being a mom, what did I do?  Gave him mine, of course...and those of you who know me, know that giving up my own ice cream cone does not happen often.

This event would not have happened without the Stiefel Freethought Foundation!

We came home to find Austin busy playing outside.  Special thanks to Mariana and Emily for watching him for us today!

Farm Fun!

Austin, Ella, Andrew, and Hunter played with Play-doh for quite awhile today.  Even after everyone else was done playing Austin continued.  He really had a fun time!

We went to Farm Days at NC State.  So fun...the kids got to see turkeys, baby chicks, cows, horses, goats, sit on tractors, etc...

Austin LOVES cows...except when you get too close.  He had me in a death grip and was crying when we were too close to the "big cow."

Lucas caught the bull on the first try.

Austin loved the calves...he kept saying, "baby cows cute."

Getting ready to try out the big tractor.

Free ice cream from NC State..yum!  (we thoroughly cleaned our hands over and over)

What a cute ice cream eating crew...

I made "spring break" journals for the boys and they both got right to work.  Hunter wrote about holding the chick and Andrew drew about seeing the horse.  Then I told them they could decorate the cover however they wanted...the decided to draw zombies.

Such a great afternoon to bike and skateboard.

Who doesn't play with play-doh without pants while singing ABC's.  Not worth the fight to put on his diaper.  He did not have any tantrums today.  But, he did get pretty upset when I took him off the big tractor.

Overall...I fun first day of spring break!  I am now trying to get everything ready for tomorrow.  Chris and his band are playing in an event at Fort Bragg.  http://rockbeyondbelief.com/
