Walking for MD

Hunter and I went downtown today to participate in a walk for Muscular Dystrophy.  A student I had several years ago lost his battle to MD in Oct. of 2011.  His team this year, Cameron's Crusaders, was large and everyone was out in the rainy weather in memory of him...hoping someday there will be a cure.

Cameron loved the Carolina Hurricanes and hockey.  The team dressed in Canes apparel and red.  Stormy even came to join the team as well.

I was lucky enough to have Cameron in my class for a year...he was the sweetest little guy with a love for life and a huge heart.  I also had his sister Callie a few years later.

Despite the bad weather, there was a great turnout and the team raised about $7,000.

Here are some of the signs/posters that people carried:

As we were leaving there was a major downpour and Hunter realized his T-ball practice was cancelled.  He was so disappointed.  He was able to get outside and practice a bit with Chris this afternoon.  I went out to buy a new camera.

Here are the first few shots I took with this camera...
