Easter baskets:
The boys coming down the stairs and collecting eggs on the way:
Egg hunt in our living room. Austin found a handful of eggs and then one broke, so he realized there were edible items inside. So Hunter had A LOT more eggs in the end then Austin did.
Then he found his Easter basket which had the squeezable applesauce...and he insisted I open it right away!
Checking out what's in the eggs.
Hunter got a t-ball stand, which Austin kept setting eggs on. He also used a sword as a bat to practice. Hunter also go a "spy" voice scrambler and the boys had the best time playing with it...ALL MORNING! Nothing like hearing the boys repeat things over and over with funny sounding voices.
We went to the NC Arboretum at NC State today. This week they were having a special egg hunt. You were supposed to search for 8 wooden eggs. Each egg had a letter on it. Then you unscramble the letters to make a word for a small prize. We found 7 out of the 8 eggs, but we're pretty sure the word was daffodil. The office was closed, but my guess...the prize was a daffodil.
Hunter relaxing in the sun...it was so nice out today!
Austin and some heavy balls he tried to pick up. He even waved and said goodbye to them as we moved on.
Picnic lunch
Streaker at the arboretum!
Grilling a "beer butt" chicken.
An hour and fifteen minutes later...
Easter dinner...chicken, salt potatoes, salad, deviled eggs, butternut squash risotto, grilled pineapple, and rosemary & olive oil bread...delicious!
The Easter Bunny left a bag of eggs for me to hide outside...so we had our second egg hunt after dinner. Austin got distracted again when another egg broke...spilling jellybeans.
Austin was a little more whiny then usual today...or this afternoon after his nap. Turns out he has a fever of 101. :( Hunter is upset about going back to school tomorrow. 44 more school days until summer vacation!
