Headed to Williamsburg, VA

We woke up bright and early this morning to get things ready for our trip.  I made lasagna for tonight's dinner, took Austin to Underwood to water the garden, picked up some meat from The Meat House, and then we started to get everything loaded up.  The boys played nicely while we got the car packed.

Even thought it was super hot again today...Sadie decided to go lay in the sun to work on her tan.

Austin spent quite some time screaming and FINALLY passed out watching a movie.

A bridge we drove over as we got closer to Williamsburg.  We drove by a bunch of plantations including one where former president John Tyler lived.

Then Austin woke up and was screaming again, so I recorded him on my phone and here he is watching himself scream.

Woohoo...made to to Williamsburg and the kids took over with their toys.

A little wrestling match before dinner.

Austin strapped himself into his chair and then couldn't get out.

Sweet buddies...Austin-2, Landon-1, Hunter-6

 Ready to eat some dinner...

Bath after dinner...little butts.

Austin spent most of the time wiping his eyes because Landon was splashing like a little fish.

Hunter wanted to check out the pool this evening...it was nice.  There is a large main pool outdoors...one smaller one for adults and one for children.  There is an indoor pool and a hot tub inside as well.

Around the pool there are a bunch of activities like shuffle board, ping pong, mini-golf, a playground, etc...lots to do!

Tonight was movie night at the pool and Hunter was so excited he shouted from the water..."Mom, take a picture!"

The sky before the storm moved in...and it came fast.

Just after we got back to our condo the storm hit, there were tornado warnings, but we just had a lot of wind and then some hail.

Looking forward to a fun week!

Ready to go...Finally!

We hardly stepped outside today...we went out this morning to swim and this afternoon to swim and that was about it!

It took me all day to get things ready for our upcoming trip to Williamsburg, VA.  Hunter swam a ton today and was so tired...however, he's still up. (11:30) He is scared of all the "noises" in his room.  I just let him get into bed with me...

This morning waiting for their breakfast.

Austin loves watermelon so much he rolled this one into the living room to tell me to cut it.

Sadie laying in the heat/sun...she was belly up at first...after a few minutes she was ready to go inside.

Hunter insisted that he was NOT going to play this baby game...but, he did.  They are supposed to catch these little butterflies that shoot out of the elephants trunk.  Austin and Ella figured it was easier to just pick them off the ground.

My last task for the evening was to add the iron-ons to the back of the shirts I made for the boys.  They came out great.  I put one of the red, white and blue shirts in too.

Off to bed...all I have left on my to do list is make the lasagna for dinner tomorrow night and pack the car.  I'm sure a bunch of other things will come up though!

The Heat is Rising

This morning after Austin used the potty this is what I found him doing.

We hit a playground early today to get some energy out before the temp got too high.  Then we checked out some books at the library.

After that I took the kids to Snip-its so Hunter could get his hair cut.  His hair was so long and thick that when she started buzzing it off in the back I was a little shocked at how much hair was falling to the floor.

He noticed a lady in the hair place that had black and red hair and said he wished his hair could be a different color.  So his hairdresser introduced him to  gel that changes your hair color.  He picked blue.

Could he look any older?  What happened to this little guy?

Haha...he wasn't really little then even though he was only 3 months old here and close to 20lbs!  We were looking through pictures last night and we were all laughing at chubby Hunter photos.

Here he is when he was actually little (for about 5 minutes of his life)  He liked to make this monkey face.  The more we laughed at him, the more he did it.  Kind of like now.

Ok...back to present day...

I started working last night on making t-shirts for Austin, Hunter, and Landon for our trip to Williamsburg.  Here's what they looked like last night before I put the dye on them.  The ones on the left will have a spiral and the ones on the right will have a bullseye.

After letting them soak overnight this is what the spiral ones looked like...Hunter was so excited he wanted to put it right on.  His response was, "How did you do that?  Did you knit it?  I've always wanted one of those.  Everyone at school has one!"  Glad he likes it.

I'm not finished with the green and yellow shirt yet.  I am going to add something to the back.  I also made red, white, and blue shirts for July 4th.  I'll post pictures of those tomorrow.

The kids had a great time in the pool today.  Austin and Ella's new float thingys work so well.  Today they both were jumping in off the side and "swimming" around.  I could not take any pictures because I was there to catch them when they jumped.  Hunter is pretty much a fish and has perfected his back flip (in the water, not from the side).  So glad we have the pool...tomorrow it is supposed to be 106!  I think that is an all time high for Raleigh, ever.  Woohoo!

Ducks, pool time...and I found the camera!

This morning we met my friend, Kara, and her son Caleb at the lake to feed the ducks.  Then we went and played on the playground for a bit.  It was another beautiful day, with no humidity.  I guess that is going to start back up again tomorrow.  :(

They were all running back towards the playground, but my phone camera cannot take action shots.  :(

A few weeks ago Hunter decided he wanted to grow his hair long.  The other day he told me it was long enough.  This is what happened when he went down the tunnel slide.  Hopefully I can get him to the hair place before we leave for our trip!

Trying to get everyone to look at me...Austin trying to help Ella move her head, because he apparently thinks she cannot do it on her own.

Ella and Austin ready to try out their new floats...

They were awesome.  They both got a little freaked out when they started to float on their own, but once they realized they were fine, and I was right there, they really liked it!

Miss I Have So Much Hair We Just Don't Know What To Do With It.  I'm happy to report that this photo was taken with my camera.  It had fallen out of my purse and into the side pocket of the passenger side door.  Sorry, Austin...I guess you didn't steal it after all.

Austin can kick anyone off the couch.  There goes Hunter.
